This powerful Advent series is built around themes for Thanksgiving, the four Advent Sundays, and Christmas Eve or Day.  All of the art, preaching materials, liturgical resources, Planning Guide, and family activities are linked together through these six themes and focused into a single six-week event through the colorful Advent candle art.

The THANKSGIVING resources are focused on Psalm 100, “Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise!”

The First Advent Sunday “EXPECTATION” theme is built on Isaiah’s Messianic promises, “They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God.”

The Second Advent Sunday “PREPARATION” resources unite the four Gospel messages from John the Baptist, “In the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord.”

The Third Advent Sunday “DECLARATION” themes are from John’s magnificent prologue about the Incarnation, “He came as a witness to testify to the light.”

The Fourth Advent Sunday “REVELATION” resources lift up the powerful story of the shepherds and angels, “I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”

The “Christmas Eve/Day CELEBRATION” theme focuses on the birth of Jesus as told by both Luke and Matthew, “They found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger.”

Some of the more than 100 files in the downloadable zip file are in Adobe Acrobat (pdfs) for easy reproduction on local inkjet or laser printers. Other files such as the Letterhead and Envelope are in editible Microsoft Word documents so you can add personal information. Bulletin covers, posters, and clip art files are in jpg format for inserting into whatever software you want to use for publishing your newsletters, worship bulletins and posters.

There is also a comprehensive 120-page, 8.5 x 11" Planning Guide in pdf format with extensive Biblical, preaching and liturgical materials for Thanksgiving, the four Advent Sundays, and Christmas Eve/Day plus instructions on using the resource and creative suggestions for ways of keeping the themes alive in worship, family, church school, and other small group settings.

The downloadable file also has art for Worship Bulletin Covers (5½ x 8½”) and Posters (both 8½ x 11” and 11 x 17”) for the six days. And, all are in files for both color and black and white. Also for worship are 5½ x 8½” Bulletin Inserts with the theme art on one side and a brief message about the theme on the other.

Family units can really become a part of the entire Advent theme emphasis with the Advent Family Devotionals to be used with or without family Advent Wreaths. The booklets can be printed in a variety of formats using different files and in either color or black and white.

Also for families, there are different Table Grace Cards for each week of the season. Each card has the art of the weekly theme plus table graces in both modern and traditional language to augment the weekly themes.

In addition there is a specialized Clip Art all of which supports the weekly themes and can easily be imported into newsletters and brochures. Finally, there are editible files for a special Advent Letterhead and Envelope which can be personalized and used to send promotional mailings to members.
